The Mighty Huntress Returns [open to the household]

Providing for her family has always been important to Ali. She'd thought once she was doing a good job of that: her children wanted for nothing that could be found in mortal lands (and a few supernatural ones, too). They had all the toys they could desire, encouragement to explore the world, time enough for their hobbies, and a family that would (finally) never leave them.

Or so she'd thought.

But there was nothing she could do about that now: he was gone, and it was his right to live his life as he saw fit. She'd made a mistake, but she was determined to prove that even if she couldn't pick out a proper father she could still provide for her children in other ways. This is what lead to her pre-dawn departure from the house, armed with her longbow and a few knives.

Anyone who knew her fondness of hunting (which would admittedly be few people who bothered to come around these days) would know what this meant. They wouldn't be surprised to see her in the kitchen around noon, with the counters piled high with slabs of meat in varying shades of pink and skinned things that still look rather like animals, the stove covered with pots and pans and who-knows-what going on in the oven while Ali prepared the meat for various sorts of storage.

Everyone else, though? They're probably wondering if a cow exploded in the kitchen.

the end, hunting
