New Friends and New Places

I think I need to take more of these impromptu 24 hour vacations. Ireland was wonderful. The time differences made things interesting. The flight home took about nine hours, and we landed two hours after taking off. Yay timezones.

It's so beautiful there. I got to see the real Cliffs of Insanity! And I almost ran afoul of the Irish sweater mafia. Fortunately I was able to provide documentation that I had, in fact, purchased some lovely woolly things.

No, really. And they were human. That's the weirdest thing. Some pooka, or maybe some really bored Fianna wanting a story, that I could buy. But humans? This weird? That's weird.

I also got to meet some of Ian's family. His gran is a dear when you ignore her prejudices, and his grandfather is, well...exactly what I was expecting. They have a whole flock of goslings running around their estate (see, my desire to have many children around isn't so strange after all), though there's one less now that Sean's here to study with Ian. Oh yeah. We got Ian a squire for Yule. Or something. (Hmm. Maybe I should make Sean wear a bow of some kind...)

It was fun. Too bad I don't think the old man's going to let me go back.

There have been so many interesting new people, like Toby and a Jareth that may or may not be his (I'm leaning towards "not"). New people are fun.

Less fun was the means by which Jas has finally given me something I need: permission for a nursery. I really wasn't expecting Ian to do that.
