Ali has been decorating.
More specifically, she and many many boxes of candles and flowers and ribbons have descended upon the house in Betäuben. She is undaunted by the lack of furniture (though she intends to remedy that situation soon), waiting only until all the paint is dry before starting on a room. As she's had a few days now to work on it, when Jas finally gets around to visiting he'll find an awful lot has been done. The first signs are the
large wreaths with lemons and juniper on the doors, and smaller
wreaths and swags on the windows. Inside, the mantles have been trimmed in lush garlands decorated with ribbons and candles to match the colors of the room, some backed with mirrors and others with swags of beads and ribbon gracing the walls above. There's no tree yet, but her intention to get one is evident by the stack of boxes in the living room, a few open to reveal the candles or
glass ornaments within.
Ali's in the kitchen, sitting at the table, currently surrounded by oranges in various stages of being covered with cloves and star anise. There's a pot of tea and a plate of saffron cakes within reach, the latter pinning down a few small sheets of paper.
