Shiny New Things

I also got myself a new toy. It's a cell phone and MP3 player, and it's called Chocolate. How perfect is that? It's so pretty and shiny!

I am a very lucky girl today, for I met Burt the chimney-sweep.

Iva's having a hard time sleeping in her new room. Poor girl.

"Did he create her, then? He has much talent."

He nods. "More than the idea of sitting and waiting. At least we'll be doing something productive." He seems calm enough, but his shoulders are tense.

"Yeah." She slips an arm around his waist, rubbing his back in long soothing strokes. "It'll be fun."

They're not going to fool anyone if they keep this up.

"I'm sure it will," he agrees, flashing her a grin.

Well, that just means they'll have to get all of the tense and nervous finished with before they leave, so they can be all professional during the trip itself.

"And we'll have a marvelous time. You'll have a marvelous time just getting to watch me play dress-up every day, I think."

"Truthful and in love, my Alison." He draws her to him and rests comfortably against her. He seems to have, finally, fully adapted.

"Even better." She curls a finger under his chin, tilting his head so she can give him a good and proper kiss.

Ali-kisses are always welcome, and he lets it linger, making a noise like a pleased cat.

"Mmm...if you keep kissing me like that, I'll never finish packing." She doesn't sound particularly enthused with the idea of stopping though.

"I can always help you pack later," he offers, and grins.

"Oh yes, we'll be so terribly productive I'm sure," she teases.

"Point," he says dryly. "Shall I let you finish packing first, then, before we become terribly distracted?"
