Dress Like a Pirate Day

I decided to dress like a pirate today. I got lots of advice on how to be a pirate, and some treasure of my very own. The captain seems to think very highly of me.

Nagi's reminded me that I need new kimono, and a yukata for the festivals he's going to take me to.

But before that! I discovered that the captain likes cats, or at least cat girls

"Did you enjoy yourself, dressed as a pirate, my lady?"

"Very much, yes."

"That's good to hear. Who was giving the advice, if I may ask?"

[vicioussweetie]

"Oh. People. You know how the Nexus is." She sucks at being evasive. "How was your hunting?"

[one_moore_time]

"We raided a nest near Boston General to good effect. There was a moment where it could have gone badly, but strategy prevailed. I believe I might be beginning to earn their regard." She may suck at it, but she didn't lie, and she is his lady; he doesn't expect to be privy to everything.

[vicioussweetie]

"I'm glad of that. Thank you for it all." Lie? To him? She's not stupid. "Hopefully that'll let the people in the hospital actually rest and get better."

"I think there are more nests I'd like to go back and deal with, and we didn't quite finish with the first one, but we made good progress, and retreated before exposing ourselves to a needless loss." He smiles. "But from what I saw, the children's ward will be more peaceful, for now."

[vicioussweetie]

Her smile grows. She does so adore his sense of priorities. "Wonderful, simply wonderful!"

He smiles as well, bowing slightly. "I would like to commend some of the trolls to you in particular, for their courage and valor on the field."

[vicioussweetie]

"Then I shall make certain to thank them personally." She wonders exactly how, as she replies, but she'll think of something.

He nods, and begins relating the trolls' deeds over the course of the adventure.

[vicioussweetie]

She listens carefully, nodding and making all the appropriate comments at the appropriate times while filing away the bits she thinks important for later consideration.

"A day of glory for all involved, to be sure. Thank you, Ian."

"I live to please," he replies.

[vicioussweetie]

"Then you must live well."

[one_moore_time]

"Lately, very much so."

[vicioussweetie]

She smiles warmly. "Good."
