Since I updated this thing. I've had so much going on, I don't know where to start. Well first of all, some great news that George has neglected to mention in his journal- such a typical guy- his sister had her baby. He is a beautiful baby boy and his name is Dasan. In fact, I was over at his parents' house today and got to spend some time with him. He is so snuggly! I miss having a baby! George and I are definitely planning to have children after we are married. In the meantime, I get to be an auntie which is a lot of fun. Sammie is thrilled to have a new cousin to faun over. My sister and her son are coming out to Cali in a few weeks and I am totally stoked. I'm hoping that we'll have a chance to go to a retailer that carries the bridesmaid dress that I like. I want to make sure that everybody likes the style and colors.
I put down a deposit on my dress already, and I am so excited about it!!! I get all this email now about wedding stuff and one of them was an announcement for a sample sale at Ginger's Bridal Salon in SF. I had read that sample sales are a really good way to get a good deal on a dress. So I hop on BART with my grandma and it's located in the shopping area near the Powell station which thankfully wasn't a long walk. It was really nice going with my grandma. She helped my mom pick out her wedding dress, and my sister, too, so it's kind of a tradition. As I was looking at the dresses, I was totally dismayed because not only did I not like the style of the dresses, but they were rode hard and put away wet. They had torn seams, buttons missing, torn tulle, makeup smudges, you name it- and the deal is, you buy the dress as is. I couldn't imagine anyone wearing such a shitty dress; they didn't look presenable or fixable. Plus, and this was the ultimate kicker- the dresses were still as high as $1,700. I could not believe what I was seeing. So I asked if I could try on some of the samples for the new dresses so I could at least try on something worthwhile. The women that worked there were super nice and the one helping me brought out a few dresses that I liked from the website. I tried one on and that was it. I knew it was the one. My grandma loves it, too. I am tickled. Plus, the lady helping me picked out a veil too go with it that was just perfect. You all (except George) can check out my dress at www.pronovias.com Then you have to click on "Book de Seleccion 2005" and then click on "Fashion" My dress is called "Bering" and is the first one that appears in the larger window. You can click on the smaller pictures to enlarge them somewhat. You can see my veil at www.lorilondon.com then click on "Veiling" then click on the small white arrow in the blue oval next to the picture 3 times and then you'll see my veil. I am TICKLED... can you tell? LOL!
