Potentially too much information - about teeth and being my "age"

That and a couple of other You can blame this on the fact that last October my dentist told me my wisdom teeth had started to come through. That and a couple of other incidental events that have got me thinking...

Going under a cut just in case people don't want to read, although I don't think there's really anything too bad here )

I can tell you people mistake you for someone much younger: you have an elfin shaped face, a slight figure, and lack of inches. Combined with your lack of concern about fashion and make-up it gives the all arms and legs look one associates with coltish youth.

And then you open your mouth, and well, that's where your years are, in the wealth of knowledge you've acquired over the years. *g*

However I do know that it is rarely as appreciated by those who look much younger than they are. A mate of mine was refused service in the pun for being under-age. Except he was 21, and this was the local hotel where he'd had his 18th, in a town where you knew everyone *g*

I agree with what eneit says about mistaking you for someone younger... I always get you and Elyse mixed up!

Oh god... how much younger is Elyse than me??? She's still in high school isn't she?

Don't mind me... I'm killing myself laughing here.

She's doing her HSC this year, does that help? *smiles innocently*

Haha, well at least she's nearly an adult then. I think we need to see DM more often to set her older mind straight ;) *runs to hide behind granny*

FOCLMAO!

If Virgin Blue continued to have more awesome fares like they did at the time of the christening (which is the time I mistook you for Elyse... I think...) then I would be down there much more frequently given that I now have a regular long weekend twice a month!

^___^ Your reaction has me chuckling happily...

Ahh lucky you! Well, at least flying to Sydney ought to have deals at least a bit more often even if sleepy town doesn't :P

Wait hang on. If you mistook us at the Christening... that was what 2 years ago? So she was... urgh... again with the 15 year old comparisons...

Well don't forget... it had been a few years since we'd last met and that was in Sydney in 2002!

Thank you. For some reason that description seems like a significant compliment... and I have no idea why :)
then you open your mouth, and well, that's where your years are, in the wealth of knowledge you've acquired over the years
As potentially insulting as it is to say this, this was something that used to confuse people about my sister and I when we were kids. She was so much taller people would immediately assume she was older, then as soon as we began to speak people would put me as more of an intellectual... which meant they would think of me as the older sibling. It made for some really interesting first few meetings with some adults.

So who the heck refused to serve him? Someone bitter about not being invited to the 18th birthday celebrations, or someone new to the town?

someone who forgot how old he was, because as far as he was concerned all of us kids were about thirteen, no matter what our actual age was.

(It was both honest and a compliment, the best kind )

:) That makes sense. I do this with kids I led at youth group too, they also are assumed to be shorter than me (assuming they were to begin with) until I am faced with evidence to the contrary.

Thank you again :)
