Mixed Solstace to you all
Happy Solstace! My feelings are mixed today. I made a boo boo with my macintosh. I was playing around, trying to load Suse 11.1 Linux for PPC on it (its a G5). I started to do a full backup, but STUPIDLY I though, nothing will go wrong.
Wrong wrong wrong. Suse installed fine, but for some reason, it ate the boot sector or whatever Macs have and I lost EVERYTHING in my mac partition. All my wedding pictures and vacation pictures and everything from the past year. I have backups from over a year ago, thank god, but still.
Oh, well. Live and learn. Always do the backup.
For Solstace I bought my wife a new digital camera. Ritz was having a special, $99 for a neat little Nikon Cool Pix. It's similar in function to her HP so she'll be able to use it. They also have a special on ALL IN ONE scanner printers. I picked up an Epson. Now, normally, I don't like all-in-ones, but I do need a new scanner (especially now that I must scan all my printed out photo's again).
Christmas is coming up, and it should be a nice one. We are having a wicked winter storm here, so there should be plenty of snow on the snow mobile trails!
