The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, and leaving for Chile tomorrow.
THE GREAT INEXORABLE THING IS FINALLY HAPPENING. And it's not Broshie feels. I'm sitting on the floor of my room with two half-empty suitcases and I've already packed everything... this has literally never happened to me before. I'm reconsidering my stance on hiking boots. Wait, yes, I'm going to go get them. IN THE BAG THEY GO. I'm half super-nervous-going-to-explode and half this-might-be-the-best-five-months-of-my-life-HOLY-SHIT-YES-AWESOME, with a heavy dash of fuck-it's-gorgeous-here-and-miserable-winter-there :(
So anyway, internal drama aside, this post is mostly to announce that I won't be on LJ for the next five months, at all if I can help it, due to the fact that Chilean culture seems unlikely to include a lot of hockey porn and, you know, wherever you are, be there.
If you miss me terribly/are interested in the ruminations of a 20-something about Chile/have a lot of free time I'll be blogging semi-regularly:
http://onthechileside.blogspot.com/ Anyway, I'm going back to self-medicating with alcohol and Pride&Prejudice (the 2005 version, does anybody actually prefer the mini-series from 1995? I have a lot to say about this but now is not the time).
Adios amigos.
