FINAL FANTASY XIII
Oh, oh yes. I went to the Midnight Release and everything, and it was great.It's absolutely amazing so far. The complaints about it being linear aren't unfounded, but it doesn't take away, as far as I can tell. Hell, I usually wanna rush forward and learn more about the story myself, so I'm fine with it, though it would be nice if they changed it up a little bit, since its mostly running down long narrow corridors with little branches off the beaten path that lead to treasure every here and there.
The battle system is DELICIOUS; fast-paced, new, exciting, and brutal if you're not careful. And the characters... oh dear god... lets not get me started on characters, we all know I'll never stop, but...
THEY'RE SO <3.
Lightning is just badass, Snow equally so while also being sexy-as-fuck and unbelievably sweet, Sazh is unexpectedly just amazing, he's hilarious and far more likeable than that other gun-toting black man from the series. Vanille is... well, people tend to call her annoying, being the peppy character with the weird, grating voice. I understand this. I've had my moments in which I've winced, cocked my head to the side, and just gone "WTF?" but for the most part I've shrugged it aside. Bad voice acting happens. To me, its definitely NOT the worst I've ever heard and is excusable. Shes cute and peppy which is nice around everyone else who's tired and lamenting their fates. I just feel the need to defend her because if not for her voice, she'd be perfect as far as I'm concerned.
And then there's Hope. Why, oh why Square Enix, must you make me feel like a fucking pedo? Seriously. First there was Larsa who was just OMFGIRRESISTABLYAWESOMEANDWIN. And now, Hope. This kid is just... agkhlwgtfedg. Fuck you, Square Enix. Fuck you.
SADLY I haven't gotten Fang just yet, still a couple chapters from that, but can't WAIT, she's one of the characters I've been most excited about, really.
Honorable character mention must go to the man in the icon, Cid Raines. Yes, thats right, SEXY CID. My dear god, this game wins over all other Final Fantasy's just because it has a delicious looking Cid. (God, I'm gonna get flames from anons now. ITS A JOKE, FANBOYS, A JOKE). [Which reminds me, I totally saw a fanboy at the midnight release with a masamune, who just EMANATED the aura of 'higher-than-thou-typical-fanboy', and then did speak the word: "Mass-uh-moon". Yes, for the pronunciation of Masamune. I mentally face-palmed, and stifled a chuckle.] BUT ANYWAY.
Loving this game so hard right now. ; ^ ; Sadly it has deprived me of my sleep and thereby given me one annoying ass headache. *sigh*
(On an unrelated-but-semi-related-cuz-its-about-video-games note, I've gotten my Chanter in Aion up to level 18 now. Poor Yume sits dusty on another server, waiting for level 35 so I can get her outta that damn kimono and into something comfy and kickass......... keep waiting dahling... <3 v.v
