My sister's friend is out of the coma and back at home.

What happened:

Their friend (the one whose house they were staying at) knew the guy who came to pick them up. She had arranged for him to come get them so they could sneak out to go to the party. They consumed a large amount of whiskey. Her friend who passed out had a BAC of 10x the legal limit (were she of age, and not 15) once they got her to the Hospital, which was probably 8-10 hours after they stopped drinking/she passed out. She was in a coma until yesterday afternoon. She is coherent now and there doesn't appear to be brain damage yet, though that remains uncertain.

My lil sis if fine and honestly getting off extremely easy for such a serious offense, but seriously, what can you do?

My parents would have removed all means of communicating with the outside world, probably signed me up for volunteer service at a rehab facility, taken my shiny new permit (that was obtained this week) and told me that the only contact I would have with my peers was strictly at school. All of my activities would be monitored and all of my friends parents would be tipped off to my stupidity, so their parents would know to be more vigilant with their children. My room would have been searched. I would have no TV, no music, no computer, no phone privileges. Dating would probably be banned until I demonstrated to them that I was trustworthy again. My input would not be sought for matters like family meals, school supplies, or clothing. I would not receive anything new from them (clothing, room decor, makeup, etc) until I started being more responsible. My life would be an exercise in getting good grades, studying, and being an active participant in family functions. There would be no hanging out in my room, no closing the door, no private conversations, no disciplinary issues tolerated to any extent. The sentence would be interminable until I proved trustworthy and responsible by their standards. Back talking and smart-mouthing would not be tolerated at all.
