I'm about 4 days away from completing Basics of Interior Design, one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. Right now, I have a 96.xxx% Considering there are over 1370 points to be earned in this class in 5.5 weeks, I think that's pretty awesome. It's not that the information is difficult (the facilitator IS!) -- it's that it's so much physical labor wrapped into such a short period of time. 5 projects due a week when one project takes about 12 hours worth of work plus 6 hours of reading means I'm hitting it hard. I finally started including stuff in my assignments that isn't needed yet because it's needed for upcoming assignments. That approach has saved my soul. But seriously I have been working furiously for about 5 weeks straight with Annalise underfoot the whole time. Yuck. It's really hard to do perfect drafting and Photoshopping and reading and thinking when you're getting interrupted constantly or you're having to make sure the toddler doesn't do things that could kill her. I love her to death, but I miss the little blob of immobile baby that slept half the day so I could work. The toddler that only takes one nap a day and can climb, jump, scream, throw fits and do all kinds of other stuff really drives me to insanity some days.

So anyway. this is one of those moments where I'm caught up and have nothing due tonight (cause I already turned it in today) or tomorrow (but I do have reading I need to do), so I am LJing. Because I'm really starting to hate Crossville. My religious sparring partner/next-door neighbor Alaena moved out today to Ft Payne. So there goes one of the few people I interacted with regularly who was near my age and would actually come visit me. It helped that she was next-door. But anyway. We're looking forward to our next move. Don't know where to. But it's coming sometimes after August gets here.

By the way, wish us luck -- Stewart finds out this next week if he got into AMTP for Admin training -- that's the next class he has to take for his next promotion (that probably accompanies the next move). We want to live someplace either closer to (but not within 1.5 hours of) Charleston or closer to Huntsville. We'll potentially live there a couple years while Stew prepares for Ops, so we don't want to be stuck in podunk backwoods nowhere, even if it is really pretty. The reality is that we are too big city for this small of a town and need to have options for diversion nearby (no more than a 30-45 minute drive to the nearest major city). We are considering the following: Huntsville Metro (DUH) - Columbia, Greenville, or Spartanburg SC, - ATLANTA Metro (WOW - Stew is considering it!)- Knoxville, Nashville, or Chattanooga, TN (perhaps Memphis, too?).

Are there other cities we have ignored? We won't go to Birmingham or anyplace south of there in AL. There's really nothing in MS we want to be near, and Augusta, GA is out for Stew.

Thoughts?
