Watch out for our younger fans, mmkay?

Jan 15, 2010 10:02

Normally I would just ignore these stories because people tend to put themselves in these situations, but the fact that these specific two stories appeared on my flist within hours of each other really, really creeps me out. I don't think the two situations are related, but it's still extremely freaking scary.

Cliff Something-or-other Kosterman (Jared Padalecki's both Jensen and Jared's bodyguard - thanks, yellowwolf5) apparently posted this on Facebook:
"There is someone out there posing as both J and J on twitter. We need to let everyone know it is not the boys. Please spread the word that the guys don't give life lessons nor do they met people for lunch, as a fan found out. This comes from J and J."

A fan (that I'm just going to assume is very young, just to save my sanity) went out to meet up with Jensen for a "lunch date," only to find out it was a creepy old man who said he "represented Jensen." She apparently had her mother with her so nothing happened, but... still. (My opinion of this fan's judgment is going to be withheld.)

A few hours after I saw that first one, I read this on minionstimulus:
"Earlier today one of our members was contacted by someone who called himself Georges, claimed to be Misha's relative, and asked her to meet up with him. He has already been removed from minionstimulus.com, but we would like to remind everyone to please be mindful of safety issues and to not share personal information."

Like I said, I doubt the two are related, but what the fuck is up with sexual predators/creepy creepy people going after Supernatural fans? D:

fandom is not awesome sometimes, jared padaladaleckiah, what, jensen ackles is a mandroid, supernatural ate my brain, misha collins is many things
