Chuck fans = amazing bunch o' people.

I STILL NEEDS A CHUCK ICON. Maybe I'll just make one, since I can't find any I like.

I just have to point this out, because it's kinda AWESOME. Chuck fans have been making donations to the American Heart Association on behalf of Chuck (aka the "Have A Heart - Renew Chuck" campaign). Fans make a donation, and a card is sent off to NBC saying a donation was made on behalf of Chuck Bartowski. Charities like this rarely never have any effect over whether or not a network renews a show, but when they really take off it gets the show some good press.

Donations apparently started last Wednesday. I'm just going to copy this little bit from the campaign blog, because... WOAH.
TOTAL DONATIONS
$215 at 11:40 am 5/6/09
$3,432.03 at 11:55 am 5/7/09
$3,977.03 at 8 am 5/8/09
$5,036. at 5:30 pm 5/8/09
$9,755.53 at 1 pm 5/10/09

Look at that last one again, from yesterday afternoon. $9755.53 in FIVE days.

HOLY. CRAP.

SERIOUSLY. And this isn't even close to over, because they're probably gonna keep going until NBC announces a renewal. (Officially supposed to be announced next Monday, rumors circulating that it may be announced tomorrow.)

Um. Chuck fans are kind of awesome.

This is coupled with Zachary Levi leading about 600 fans going to a Subway and buying every sandwich in the shop (Subway has some product placement within the show), plus Wonka/Nestle sending NBC 1000 boxes of Nerds candies... sorry, but that's way more hilarious than the tabasco sauce of Roswell or the nuts of Jericho.

Yes, they're making me want to dive into their tiny, minuscule fandom headfirst. *half hearted fist shake*

chuck, fandom is awesome sometimes
