On the poorer side of broke
So....nearing 2 months of unemployment and the Unemployment people still haven't come through.
I called today and found that the because THEY recieved a letter from my employer that I had "reasonable" assurance that I would be called back, my claim has been further delayed. I told the woman, "I'm glad they told you, because I'm still waiting to hear back."
"Oh, the city of Springfield should have sent you a letter as well."
Well they didn't. So now that there's remote chance of getting rehired, they're screwing me out of what little income I was counting on for this summer.
I'm angry, upset, and pretty scared at this point. My savings are dwindling quickly, bills have been paid and I'm running on empty. I can't tell my family because I really don't want to A) burden them with my problems but mostly B) hear any crap about my trip to NYC. I took the trip with the once reasonable assurance that my unemployment would come in, but a month later and nothing has happeend. The ONLY good part is that when the check does come in, it will be retroactive, so I'll get two months worth at once. Of course, by that time I won't have a penny to my name, let alone the gas money to go to the bank and cash the check.
THIS SUCKS!
Top it with the fact I haven't heard a whisper of any job opportunities, I'm nearing a point of hysteric tears. Everyone tells me, "don't worry, they'll call you back" but school starts in less than a month, how much time do they need to call me back??!!
