All this con business kept me so swimming that is was tough to do much else. However, managed to catch up on Hannibal before the finale and the Red Dragon arc was A+. There build up to it was a little rough going, but it definitely stuck the landing. (So much gay. Very yes.) Fantastic end and if we never get more Hannibal again, I'm okay with that. Megan's been very involved in the fandom and I'm happy that it gives her a community and good friends, even sometimes at a cost of some lousy people.
Ant-Man was definitely a pleaser and I was -not- expecting the Avengers tie in! Holy crap! A lot of fun, I love Hope, and saw it a couple of times. Glad that didn't get spoiled for me, and I wish I would have stayed ahead of the curve on some other things.
Also watched the Divergent movies, which we silly fun enough for me to buy the DVD and a Tris doll. :P
Saw "The Gift" in a bout of randomness with Nichole. We started out at the Turkish festival, which from a food perspective is pretty standard Mediterranean. Some of the cultural things were pretty neat, though. But the movie was not what the trailers made it seem like at all and I think it had some neat things to say about what people appear to be.
Tried to catch up on Resident Evil Revelations, which I finally got more of the hang of. Still haven't beat it, though, so I am forever behind on all the games.
Black Ops 3 is pretty awesome, though. Loved the beta and rented it a few times, beating the story and being pretty okay at the objective modes. Ricky and his brothers are getting into it, too, but I'm so behind.
Another game that I consumed pretty quickly and loved was Until Dawn. Great horror that played on tropes and kept terror alive. Right along the vein of Heavy Rain and Beyond, but avoids a lot of the pitfalls that both of those games had. The "freedom" is a flimsy at parts, but it plays for a great ride and that's really what I'm looking for.
Amplitude (PS4) also came out and while I backed it so I technically got it early...I had no time to play it until after the main release. >_< I still really enjoy the new songs though and can't wait til I get into it some more. (The old ones are solid, but definitely not as polished as the new release.)
It made me want to play the original because "Everyone says Hi" and curiously...David Bowie passed a few days later. It seemed like he was calling out to all of us.
I never really considered myself a David Bowie fan. I got the "Changesbowie" album because of "Fashion" because of Clueless and the most a song really ever connected to me was Space Oddity. That was a strong one for me for a long time. But it is unquestionable how much he has influenced a lot of my favorites, so I felt like I owed it to him and everyone to give his hits another chance. They definitely rang stronger with me this time and many of them were familiar and I just never knew it. Definitely a legend who will be missed.
Went with the OKC Avengers to the zoo, which was nice to walk around and see some parts of the zoo that I hadn't in a while. It was pretty par for the course, though.
Bought a new car in August, which was as much of a fiasco as it always is. I hope to not have to go through that process for a long time. Ended up paying less for the car than my last one (same model, but with less weirdness and a spoiler, even if I like the color a bit less) but will have to jump through some hoops to get a lower interest rate and not pay out the nose for the extended warranty. Ugh, cars.
