Archive Yesung was glancing at his watch, checking how long they had till the café closed. Thirty minutes more. He nodded, humming a song under his breath as he made the coffee. Turning he smiled at the girl, handing her the coffee. The girl giggled together with her friend, whispering frantically to each other as they left the café.
Girls.
Yesung thought as he returned to staring at the other two when he had nothing to do.
The younger boy had emerged from his break looking slightly better than before, though Yesung knew that if Hankyung had the time to be out of the kitchen, Hankyung would have pulled Kyuhyun off the floor straight away. As it was, Hankyung was still far too busy despite the dwindling customers. Yesung had asked if Kyuhyun wanted to stay behind the counter instead, for he could at least do less walking around, but was rejected by the younger that also walked away too fast for Yesung to protest. Yesung sighed, thinking that since there was only half an hour left.
Heechul on the other hand was still prancing around the café with endless amount of energy. Briefly Yesung wondered if the slightly older boy was on a sugar rush. He was pulled from his thoughts by a crash.

“Kyuhyun? The object of my jealousy?”
Jaejoong nodded. “I know who he is. But what?” He was still stunned.
Yunho sighed. It was hard to brooch the topic without filling awkward.
“You know Yoochun’s outburst the other day?”
Jaejoong nodded again, having recovered enough from his shock to listen and continue walking.
“What has Yoochun’s outburst got to do with Kyuhyun?”
“It has everything to do with Kyuhyun.”
Now Jaejoong was more confused than ever.
However much Yunho loved the confused look on Jaejoong’s face right now, he had to continue the conversation.
“Yoochun realised that he had met Kyuhyun before.”
Jaejoong did not reply to that, simply looked at Yunho for more.
“They met the day Kyuhyun met Teukie and his kids. More correctly, Kyuhyun ran into the room Yoochun was in.”
“I’m lost.”
It was then that Yunho realised that none of them had told Jaejoong what happened when Kyuhyun met Ryeowook.
“Right, the story’s like this. Donghae was made to bring Kyuhyun around. So he brought Kyuhyun to meet the rest. Kyuhyun for some strange reason went away hurriedly after he was introduced to Ryeowook as if he was scared of Ryeowookie.”
Yunho began giving a short summary of what happened that day.
“Yes, yes, who’s afraid of Wookie? That’s the question none of us can figure out as well. Yoochun and I think that was when Kyuhyun ran into the room Yoochun was in. According to Yoochun, Kyuhyun simply slid to the ground with his back to the door and started mumbling to himself.”
Yunho raised his hand up to stop Jaejoong from speaking.
“It was too soft for Chunnie to hear.”
Jaejoong closed his mouth at Yunho’s words.
“Then Kyuhyun stood up and left as if he did not just nearly have a breakdown there.”
Yunho glanced at Jaejoong, noting the frown he wore. He knew that Jaejoong’s Umma senses had been triggered.
“That’s…”
“Weird?” Yunho completed Jaejoong’s sentence, receiving a nod as an answer. He found something he could get back at Jaejoong for teasing him. “Not as weird as your meeting with Chunnie.”
Jaejoong nodded before he realised what Yunho said. “What? Our meeting was not weird.”
“Not weird? Who meets someone by having the person running into the room, getting shouted that “I’m not a girl!” and then the person runs off?”
“It wasn’t my fault.” Now, it was Jaejoong’s turn to pout.
Yunho hid a smile. “Still say it was not weird?”
“Hmph.”
Jaejoong sped ahead of Yunho, mumbling under his breath.
“I’m never betting with Heechul again.”
The statement caused Yunho to laugh out loud as he chased after Jaejoong.
Yunho wondered, as he chased Jaejoong, if he should have told Jaejoong all that for Kyuhyun was someone whom he was fighting - not fighting - with for Jaejoong’s attention at the moment. But Yunho knew in his heart that he would not have been able to keep it from Jaejoong. Although Jaejoong was not sure if Kyuhyun was the dongsaeng he had met at the orphanage, Yunho knew that the dongsaeng was precious to Jaejoong who did not want anything to do with his past. For Jaejoong to have remembered and willingly told Yunho about the dongsaeng, he must have been someone important to Jaejoong.
And simply for that, Yunho was willing to help Jaejoong find his dongsaeng.

Kyuhyun shook his head, trying to clear away the cloudiness. Why did the café have to be so crowded today of all days? Attempting a smile as the customer thanked him, he was sure it came out as a grimace instead. Taking the plate he walked back towards the counter, glad to see that Yesung was still making his next order. It meant that he had some time to rest for a while.
Boy, get over here!
Kyuhyun blinked, turning to Yesung. “I’m fine.” At least Kyuhyun had assumed the question Yesung had posted.
“Take a break for a while. Heechul won’t die handling the floor by himself.”
Kyuhyun shook his head. He did not want to be left alone with his thoughts. Quickly, he took the plate and left the counter, not wanting Yesung to ask anymore.
He continued serving, doing his best to ignore the thoughts that were swirling in his head. Maybe it was a bad decision coming here. Those were his last thoughts before it got too busy to even think.
He had just finished serving a customer when he saw Heechul waving at him from a corner near the kitchen. Thinking that there was no one else Heechul could be waving at, Kyuhyun walked over.
“Yes, Heechul-sshi?”
“Take a break.”
“Huh?” Kyuhyun looked at Heechul in surprise.
“Take a break.” Heechul repeated crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“I’m fine Heechul-sshi. Besides, there are so many customers out there.”
“I said, take a break. Don’t make me repeat again.”
Kyuhyun stared at Heechul, opening his mouth to say something when Heechul glared at him. Kyuhyun closed his mouth, nodding his head.
Heechul nodded, turning around just as a customer called out.
Kyuhyun, left with no choice, turned and headed towards the changing rooms. Hankyung was so busy that he did not notice Kyuhyun walking past the kitchen.
Kyuhyun sat down on the floor, leaning against the cool lockers. He wondered why they all had a need to mother him. He had survived well enough without people mothering him. Now left alone, Kyuhyun’s thoughts returned to him once more.
Maybe I should not have come here.
Kyuhyun did not like how his memories had been triggered ever since he arrived in the city. He had tried so hard to leave them behind when he left, only for him to realise that he was still carrying them around. He had truly believed that he had forgotten about his hyung until his first day of school. Kyuhyun shook his head. No, you do not want to be thinking about that right now.
Closing his eyes, he tried to relax for a while before heading back to the main café.
“You do know the reason why you’re still here right?”
A nod.
“Good, I was just making sure that you knew what to expect.”
Silence reigned.
“What are you still doing here?”
Footsteps scurried around and the sound of the door opening and closing was heard.
“I’m sorry I’ve got to leave.”
A hand reached out.
“I can’t stay here any longer. And…”
A slight pause.
“I can’t bring you with me.”
The hand froze, before falling slowly. A sad smile and a nod.
“I’m sorry.”
A lone tear fell as the eyes looked on as the outline became smaller and smaller, disappearing in to the horizon.
Like everyone in his life.
Disappearing.

Then Zhou Mi remembered that something had changed. The memory of Sungmin’s room when he first saw it in years flashed through his mind.
The room was no longer pink.
There was not a single trace of pink left, nor Sungmin’s favourite animal - bunnies.
“Hyung.”
The battering on the other side suddenly stopped.
They all knew that Zhou Mi never called them ‘Hyung’ unless it was something serious.
Silence filled the time as Zhou Mi contemplated over his question.
“What’s wrong Mi?”
Sungmin’s worried voice came through.
“Hyung, what happened when I was gone?”
It was no longer a question of ‘if’ something had happened.
As the silence dragged on, Zhou Mi felt his heart sink. Something major must had happened.
“Zhou Mi ah, what makes you think something had happened?”
Sungmin’s strained reply flooded his ears.
“Hyung, I know you.”
Zhou Mi could hear his breathing in the room.
“Mi ah, you don’t have to worry about that.”
He raised his eyebrows at that, slowly sitting up from his position as alarm bells rang in his head.
“Hyung…”
“Sorry, we’ve got to go now. We’ll see you in school! Bye!”
Zhou Mi frowned as the dial tone echoed in his ear. Sungmin’s attempt at normalcy was only making him worry even more. Since they were young, Sungmin was the worst at keeping his emotions when it was just three of them.
What happened, Min? What happened?

Heechul liked being at the café. He liked working there. Sure, he did not quite have to work if he wanted, for his parents were willing to provide for him. But, Heechul did it because he liked it. He liked being surrounded by people and of course, being near his Hannie was always a plus in Heechul’s books.
Being a psychology major, Heechul liked to observe people. It was something people did not quite associate with his personality, and was part of the reason he was closed to Kibum. Being at the café, he could observe how people interact with one another. Working there allowed him to observe the ripples he could make when he cut into people’s personal space. And of course not forgetting Heechul also got to observe his Hannie at work.
Heechul grinned at the customer, lifting his plate off the table as the customers stood to leave. Turning around, he nearly bumped into Kyuhyun who was bringing orders for another set of customers. Kyuhyun jerked back slightly, managing to not spill any of the drinks on his plate.
“Woah. Be careful, Kyuhyun.” Heechul said as he too swerved to avoid crashing.
Heechul continued on his path when he stopped, turning back to observe the other boy.
The newest member to be added to their group had caught Heechul’s attention - not just for his reaction to Ryeowook, which Heechul could not deny was the first trigger - for the boy seemed to have something to do with a lot of them in the group. He was intrigued by the mystery - what mystery he had no idea - of the younger boy, something which if Hankyung or Siwon knew, they would tell Kyuhyun to run and stay far, far away from Heechul.
Heechul’s eyes narrowed as he saw Kyuhyun paled and tensed while serving. Something’s wrong.
He was already making his way there when the glass shattered.
