Thank you everyone for all your comments on my last post!
I too thought, gee maybe my bad luck really did go away!
But I was wrong, while away on a two night stay at Country Charm Resort (Xmas gift from my boss)
We got a call from the real estate agent, even though the offer was accepted, all the papers were signed, we were pre-approved for the mortgage and I had paid a $5000 deposit CMHC decided that they didnt want to insure the mortgage because it was listed as agricultural and they dont like to insure farms because they cant forclose on them if we dont pay.
So no cmhc means they want 20% down, to the tune of 40,000k. We have enough conditions in place that we should be ok getting out of it without losing our deposit but it really sucks, I never thought I would be so upset because we really werent looking for a place when we found this one. But we fell in love with it and it became known as "the dream house"
I guess it really is a dream.
