friday night lights 3x12

I didn't really expect them to win state anyway. I mean, it would be kind of pretentious to think they would after they won it in season one. But I was really hoping for it.

But the last scene with Riggins placing his cleats in the end zone? Truly heartbreaking to me. What's it all mean? I didn't get to see the preview for next week's season finale.

And the scene with Riggins and Saracen playing frisbee? So freaking adorable. Also, Tyra's college essay made me want to cry.

It kills me though. Even my fictional football team couldn't win their big game! First OSU lost to Texas (seeing the Panthers play in - and then lose in - the Longhorns' stadium made me hate Texas even more, lol). Then tonight Florida beat Oklahoma in the national championship game. Which made me hate Florida even more (they beat OSU two years ago in the 2006 national championship game). I was just hoping, just maybe, my Panthers would win. But it looks like my big week of football was depressing all around.

This show ... I don't know how to describe it. It's so painfully beautiful. So honest. So phenomenal. So breathtaking. It's hard to believe it has struggled to stay on the air. It's one of the finest hours of television and if there isn't a season four, I'm not sure how I'll respond. The season finale is next week and I know I'll be sad if season four comes around and there is no Matt Saracen or Tim Riggins, but the writers have this way of pulling you in and loving every single character. JD McCoy? I thought I would hate him, because it seemed like an obvious plot ploy to bring in fresh meat since so many people will be graduating, but the writers, they make you feel and love the character. Everyone fits perfectly. If you have never seen this show, please watch it. I have yet to meet a person who did not enjoy it.

CLEAR EYES. FULL HEARTS. CAN'T LOSE.
