Advent Day 16: Music you should be listening to

(for blue_meridian)

Music recs! In no particular order, and no particular genre! Trying out Mediafire for hosting - let me know if there's any problems :)

Artist: Mae
One of my favourite bands this year. Kind of a lighter version of Snow Patrol - has the good guitars and awesome orchestral backing, but without the power and *rock* style that SP generally has. Pretty laid back overall. First two songs from their newer album, The Everglow, and third from Destination: Beautiful from a few years ago. (I like the newer stuff better, personally :) )
The Sun and the Moon
We're so far away
Giving it away

Artist: Amy Winehouse
Upbeat jazzy rock music! So much fun to listen to. Both songs from her most recent album, Back to Black. First one is about as close to a ballad as she gets, and second is probably my favourite song of hers (so far).
Love is a losing game
You know I'm no good

Artist: Sarah McLachlan
I know that she's well known, but here's a couple of her lesser known songs. Her music is generally very smooth and clear, peaceful even. First one is only instrumental (she plays piano), second is a cover of a more seasonal song.
Last Dance
Song for a Winter's Night

Random songs

You can let go - Backstreet Boys. I am very sorry. I just like this song! Pop.

Learnt my lesson well - Kaiser Chiefs. Upbeat, dance-y rock.

Lullaby - Dixie Chicks. Slow and haunting.

A Slow Descent - Straylight Run. Similar to Mae, with more feeling.

The days go by oh so slow - Nightmare of You. Bright and poppy.

I don't love you - My Chemical Romance. You do not see this song.
