So, I'm home. As are the cats. *wipes forehead*
Yeah, my older cat isn't impressed. They were both kind of in shock coming off the plane, and were quiet on the drive to the apartment. I fed them, they seemed ok, they explored a bit. Then they claimed the second room as their own, which honestly is fine with me, I tend to use it as a place to dry laundry :D
I've put them in the bathroom with the kitty litter for the night, just to make sure I have no messes to clean up tomorrow morning, and when I picked up the older one to put him in? He *hissed* at me! Now I admit he isn't the nicest cat in general, but he tends to yowling more than violence and hissing. So now I'm afraid for my arms if I have to do that again ;) He's currently scratching at the door, which will drive me crazy all night if he keeps it up. I'm assuming he'll fall asleep soon, though.
I also need a cat monitor or something. My apartment is set up lengthwise, kind of. Like everything is in a line, with my bedroom at one end, then another bedroom, the kitchen and dining room, the living room, and at the very end is the last bedroom. What this means is, when I'm in my room? I can't tell whats going on elsewhere. So I've been catching up on email and LJ and stuff in the 2 hours I've been home, and jumping up every 10 minutes to go see where the cats were! I've closed one door already just to make it easier to search for them. Cats. Pfft.
So yes, home. Boxes from my parents' house will be coming back when my brother drives back on Tuesday, so no new belongings till then. At that point, though, I'll be inheriting a bunch of lamps, a photo printer, lots of tupperware and baking ingredients, and an air conditioner. It's kind of exciting!
And in closing? Cat food sure smells bad. Pfft.
