I'm in a coffee shop right now trying to work, and the music was so loud a moment ago, that I actually asked the man behind the counter to turn it down. It was hurting my ears.
Why would someone blast music in a coffee shop? Everyone in here is working on laptops, reading and/or listening to headphones. Why do the people working here think that we want to listen to the Smashing Pumpkins at high volume?
I'm still annoyed that i'm listening to the Smashing Pumpkins, but at least it's not hurting my ears anymore.
I just realized that my decision to patronize certain coffee shops is largely determined by the music they play. Atomix plays good music and not so loudly that it would be offensive to someone who didn't share their taste. No Friction plays about the worst music ever. This coffee shop is nothing but Smashing Pumpkins to me right now. If you're curious as to where I am, it's MoJoes in Avondale. It's really cool, except for this music thing.
OMG, he just turned it up again!! And the same guy was smoking about about a foot away from me when I locked up, further damning this whole situation.
Later, I will continue watching The War on PBS and feel pangs of guilt for beng so ungrateful for what I have and complaining about the silliest things.
