OMG TANNING TAX
Today, after seeing Snooki and John McCain bond over the tanning tax on twitter, i just stared in disbelief.
I have no pity whatsoever for those that complain about something like that. It started with cigarettes. Oh boo hoo, it costs more money to kill yourself. Is it going to stop you from doing it? Probably not. But you know what, knowing that cigarettes fucking kill you from the inside out didn't stop you either. So keep wasting your money.
Furthermore, tanning is a 10% tax. Last i saw, it costs no more than $15 a session. What the fuck. Do people know math? It's not that much more. People need to shut up. People aren't going to stop doing these things just because of a price increase. Do cigarette sales ever suffer?
And just to add, I don't understand at all. I really don't. I never have, and probably never will, understand why people smoke cigarettes. It's the most disgusting thing ever. And people that complain about how much money they spend on cigarettes? Don't deserve brains. Hey here's an idea, don't fucking smoke.
Someone made a beautiful point in an LJ community, and i want to quote them;
" But honestly, the problem with that argument is that all the smokers or all the alcoholics or all the drunk drivers or all the people who tan obsessively do not live on an island by themselves. Money ends up coming out of my taxes and my healthcare costs to pay for the injuries/diseases they rack up from what they do with their own body. Because of that, I can't 100% embrace the "let everyone do everything all the time and without any comment" when it comes to substances that are known to cause serious problems."
