Chapter 2: Go Tell It
Maureen Johnson snorted. It had been one of those days. One of those she did not get. No correction, refused to “get”.
“I swear she would stick me in a nunnery and curse those poor sexless bitches not to even dare look my way or her wrath would be worse than their own leader. ” Maureen scolded, as she hurried past the lamp poles on the busy streets of New York City.
“Licking someone as a thankyou is not that bad is it?”
Maureen snorted once more. It was one of the typical Joanne and Maureen fights. Some hot redhead recognized Maureen from her riot, complemented her on the "cow-thing", and offered her a job.
“A real fucking, (No sex probably implied) job.” Maureen screeched, causing a by-passing old man to jump.
A real job in activism for some higher rank of lower class, to be more exact. But it was a job none the less. Should Joanne not have been proud? Wouldn’t that mean crazy-sexy-time lay ahead for Poocky and Cow-Mooer?
“Well it should have, but no; what happened? Miss perfect had to ask …questions.”
Joanne wanted to know stuff, legal things and used strange terms that Maureen shut off to. That was when the shit started. The women said she, Maureen, simply had to come to their, Kerman and Co.’s, offices and show off her spunky personality to the Board. It was to convince them, the rest of the company, of Maureen’s worth; so to speak.
“And I’m worth a bloody lot!” she shouted at random dudes who dared check her out today.
And what happened next?
I simply licked her and shouted some rebel things about being against war and wanting to stop AIDS and said I’d do any thing!
Well the woman was impressed that Maureen got her and many onlooker’s attention. But of course Joanne was not impressed.
If she ever could be…
The redhead gave Maureen another card saying if she had any further questions she, Maureen should not, what?, oh yes “hesitate to call” . (And we know what that means, for Joanne knew it)And that is when, after the redhead took her upper crust cab and hit the streets, that Joanne slapped, or hit Maureen smack in the face.
Maureen’s eyes opened to their max
“What the f..”
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“Ehh! Wha wass that for..” Maureen groaned, still rubbing her sore cheek. Crap, did Joanne have a hand made out of brick!>
“Don’t you dare. You know perfe…ctly…hey, you get your ass back hear Missy. We had an agreement, no cheat---!“ Joanne shouted after Maureen.
Maureen only turned her head.
“I will flab my ASS back in your direction, if…ever, if you calm down. I mean seriously Pooky, what’s wrong with you?… You have never…”
“Me?! What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you?! You, you…”
Maureen breathed for both their sakes. Joanne seemed to turn blue but still Maureen thought her as attractive as ever.
“Ok you’re in that place right now.”
“Excuse me?”
“You know, the thing if ‘Maureen is acknowledged by another human being, Pooky gets insecure that she’s ganna loose her’. Implying ME!”
“I can’t believe you”
“You betta because… oh wait! I have a better one…”
Maureen spread her hands up and out as she said “THE Maureen is mine, sluts beware!”
Silence was all Joanne could muster.
“Well I’ve had it.” Maureen said and stomped off.
She merely rugged her head back to shout “When you cool down” IF EVER ”… I will be at the bar” *(What do you mean rugged? This means "not even" or "strong", do you mean shrugged?).*
Joanne paused “…which one!” she shouted pissed.
“Oh figure that out by your fucking self!”
“Fine!” Joanne huffed.
No one even noticed them, as the busy and filth of New York never stopped for someone else’s problems and kept on spinning.
Maureen looked back only an instant to see Joanne sweep around a corner. Then Maureen stopped.
“Ssshit” she said but slipped through an alley eager to get to the bar that she had forgotten was on the other side, where Joanne was headed.
This was not her day.
