The family meeting was really something. Haha! River was such a brat to her very uptight father. Served him just right! My favorite thing was her explanation on what her having an attachment means. The last word of it was a 'little' tagged on and unnecessary :D Poor, poor Gabriel... I'm surprised he didn't get a heart attack! Describing her Captain as a pirate or a bandit to him was hilarious too, not to mention their exchange about politeness.

Now that Gabriel is on the run with River and Simon, I wonder if he'll actually get to see the famous transport ship - and its Captain :)

That was a very enjoyable chapter to read and I had quite a few laughs with it. Looking forward for more!

Poor Gabriel indeed, though really River was just being herself! Her internal filters definitely aren't as strong as Simon's.
