Oh, this is all sorts of amazing, isn't it?

I love the raw and unfiltered River, itching with everything she feels and trying to sort it out. ♥ And poor, distracted, oblivious Mal.

Poor River, with so many, tangled-up emotions that she can't ignore, but can't act upon either. It makes sense that she would try to talk to Inara and also that it would be too dangerous, too revealing. And then Mal, with his gaze is already fixed on Inara's door, his mind only barely touching on the girl in front of him. A great beginning!

Thank you!

Yes, Inara is dangerously perceptive; if anyone on the ship is going to pick up on hidden feelings, it would be her.

(You should have seen my face when I got this comment notification, btw - so happy to see you here!)

♥ Aw, River.

Loved this especially: "Having no choice but to feel, River cherishes all the more deeply the ability to act."

Yes, there was a good reason I used that line as my summary everywhere I posted this. It seems to me that actions and decisions and the capability to control both must be so important to River after what she's been through; anything she does (when she's in full control of her mind, at least) would be done very deliberately.
