I'm sorry. I've promised that I wouldn't use this journal to show my political inklings but somehow I cannot do that right now. I'm late and half-naked. I still have to dress up for Zel's debut. But I really just have to get this out of my chest. Okay, I cursed enough to put a sailor to shame!
PAST
Politics, politics, politics. This country is going down and will never get up. Everyone is looking for a scapegoat for their problems. I don't get why it's always President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo which people blame. It's not her fault that the Filipino people are uneducated fuckwits with no discipline. Promotions of national pride here and there. How can a person be proud of a country with people as such. Guess what, it's not GMA to blame... it's YOU! IT'S ME! IT'S US!
How many presidents have we tried to take down, times have we changed the president? A LOT! Haven't we learned by trial and error that changing the president does not work? By inferential thinking and logic, it can therefore be concluded it's not the president's fault. Try to comprehend she is just one person in this country.
Remember the Wowowee Tragedy? Seventy-four people died because of a goddamn TV show. It's their excitement over the show and their complete disregard of manners to actually line up. When those people died, they blame the president. Okay, where is the logic in that? I DOUBT SHE EVEN WATCHES THE MOTHERFUCKING SHOW! Poverty my arse! If you're poor, it's your fault. Oh yeah, Filipinos are stupid hence they could give a fuck about logic and inferential thinking.
Here's the thing, it's in our nature to act irrationally. Here is the tactic of the Filipinos: "Oh gawd, I have so much problems! PATALSIKIN SI GLORIA! Makibaka!" Guess what. You can do something about your problems! I don't get why we haven't realized that yet! It's not the fucking politicians. They are fucking cunts who know better but refuse to listen to their conscience. Let the afterlife deal with them as Beelzebub barbeques their asses for lunch. Leave them be. WE KNOW BETTER!
PRESENT
In commemoration of the EDSA I, people are rallying right now. It's supposedly a peaceful revolution but now, the country is in a state of emergency. The peso is going down. Nice going, guys. Good work! Then, there's the threat of a coup de tat. ANONG GUSTO NIYONG MANGYARI?!? Leche.
EDSA. People Power. Where's the power in complaining? THAT'S PASSIVE! In doing so, we're giving in to our vulnerability. We're going to the streets saying "Okay, we can't do anything anymore. The ball is in your court." In rallying, do you earn money to lift yourself out of poverty? In rallying, do you lower the prices of commodities? In rallying, are you guaranteed that the officials will give in to your request? NO! LAOS NA YAN! That's so twenty years ago. Don't push it. You're out of fashion already.
No, I am not advocating the president. My main point is STOP BLAMING OTHERS. The president can't solve your problems. Taking her down or asking her to step down will only make it worse. (Unless you exceed her presidential calibre, then please do so.) START THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Discover whether it's for the betterment of the country or if you're just one of those who make it worse. Do not act rationally. THINK FIRST! Wake up! The president is not the only person with power. Every one of us has the power to do something. But whining and complaining won't do the trick. Just because EDSA I and II worked, it doesn't mean it will once more. It worked because the people had unity. UNITY IS THE VERY THING WE LACK RIGHT NOW!
The president is doing her part. We are the ones not doing ours. The citizens are bigger than the president. We are the greater power. But we're the ones not moving. We are our own barriers to our own improvement and uplifting our situation. WE ARE IN THE DOLDRUMS UNLESS WE START DOING SOMETHING TO MAKE OURSELVES MOVE! WE CAN'T DEPEND ON THE GOVERNMENT TO DO THE ALL ROWING! Haven't you heard the news? You can't depend on anyone anymore.
For my parting words: Hintayin niyo ko sa senado, mga putang ina. Kidding!
Cory, ma-papel ka tulad ng anak mo. Humanap ka ng James Yap mo and STFU!
P.S. - Comments are screened so you're directing me. I don't want any political debate here. Fuck it. Bahala kayo.
P.P.S. - The rants above aren't exactly about the rally. It's just what set me off.
P.P.P.S. - I like how there's a Panic! lyric for everything. (:
Edit: Okay the rally is over now.
