Alright, well after all my emotional blubbering yesterday I wnet and saw Spiderman 2... amazing! you need to go see it. but back to last week.
So once again after rising early and going to breakfast we had our first day of classes. I was in Group B with Lynn,Stuart,Anna, Rebecca,Emma,Darby, Anna Marie, Rachel, and myself. We had Theology with Fernando first. Fernando is a very cool guy. He's from Costa Rica and came to America over 25 years ago to become an ordained pastor. Now he is a teacher at the seminary. We learned a lot about the basics of theology ad what major questions you must answer in order to investigate your own answers.
Then we went to ethics. Anglea Sims was this cool hip black lady who had us sit oncouches and just discuss about what we believed. We handled every issue maturely which was awesome because I had ben skeptical about some. But everyone was so mature ad intelligent.
Then came reformed tradition. Our class was taught by syngman Rhee. He was the first Asian-American moderator of the Presbyterian church. A very cool guy. We discussed the difference between Presbyterians and other denominations. Very cool.
Then after classes we headed back to Lingle for lunch. Where we had a battle between which table could sing their oldie the loudest. I think Ain't No Mountain High Enough won.
After lunch we went to our first Prayer Service. I wish at this point I could tell you who led the service and what we did. but I do remember as a group we sang Sanctuary a capella and it was so beautiful in Watts Chapel it gave me goosebumps. wow.
Afterwards I headed over to my liturgical dance workshop. There were only four of us. Casey,Ridgely, Anna Marie and I. Our teacher joy was very cool. During the class we coreographed the dance we would be performing during Youth Worship for General Assembly. We stayed late missing spirituality practicum for that day...oops. So I headed back to the rooma nd hung out with Laura until dinner.
Dinner was pushed back because the YAD's were coming. YAD's were Youth Advisory Delegates at the General Assembly. So we all ate together and I met a cool kid named Bob. He was nice VERY southern. So then we headed over to the David Bailey concert.
DAvid Bailey is a southern folk singer who is a 8-year survivor of a Brain tumor. He now lives his life glorifying God. Very good musician. Afterwardds we headed over to Richmond to hang out and play pool and have ice cream. I met David Bailey and got his autograph. lol.
Finally it was time to go to bed. So we headed back to the dorm for our Examen group. Very emotional night. I love my girlies.
