So last night (Saturday) I played my first show with Elysium. It went pretty well, except I was pretty much unmoving on stage. Oh well, it'll get better I'm sure.
Now to review:
February 23:
The Norva
In Flames w/
Trivium
Devildriver
Zao
Angela and I made the quick trip to Virginia after skipping my last class. We missed Zao's set (didn't care) and came in right before Devildriver started. Pretty good stuff. Trivium was next, and they f'n rocked. They have a really good stage presence and song selection. Plus they did a tribute to Dimebag Darrell by playing a medley of Domination and Walk. Bad. Ass.
In Flames stole the show, though. It was just rediculous. They let some random kid get on stage and sing ALL of Bullet Ride. He did ok in the choruses, but the verses were hard to hear. As for personal excitement, I got a smile and a "yeah!" head nod from Bjorn, and an "I love you too" back from Anders. That made my night.
I may put some pictures here if I get them uploaded sometime.
March 21 (I think):
The Norva
Children of Bodom
Chimaira
Through the Eyes of the Dead
Got there as TtEotD was opening. Not bad, but a little bland in the genre of hardcore/metal. Bunch of prick fans of theirs danced in the dancy-hardcore pit. Gay is the only way to describe it.
Chimaira was pretty awesome. They're really good live. Their lead guitarist murders his guitar on stage. Just all out rockin' set.
Children of Bodom was all that I was expecting. Heavy music, lots of headbanging, solos and duets galore. Just sweet.
April 14:
Angela and I broke up. I really don't know what to say about it. We both need to grow as individuals, and I have some anger issues that I've been working on. I love her to death and would and will do anything for her.
Well, I guess that about wraps it up. Now to write a speech...great.
