As the leaves fall I become introspective. I am so busy these days, but don't seem to get anything major accomplished. My companion is in Berlin Germany until Monday and I am thinking about him. Everything demands my time, I am finishing my BA Major in Music in May 2005 and the classes are challenging. In addition, my sons still need a lot of attention and I worry about my daughter. However, this afternoon I will go to the Yale and play the blues on a Strat. While I am waiting to jam I will analyze a Beethoven piece - that is my homework. I have to go on the bus because my truck is in the shop. I am fixing up the inside now and it leaks water like a sieve every time it rains - not good in Vancouver winters. My trusty body man Ken Chow of Concept One collision will fix it. He did a great job on the outside. My motorcycle is still in the shop at Simon's Auto Cycle on 7th near Main. Simon did fix the electrical problem in my van that no one else could fix, but my bike is a little trickier.
I was so happy to ride this summer, but next summer I would like my bike to be reliable enough that I could go to the Okanagan or into the States. This year I had so much trouble I couldn't even drive to Surrey! I did get to take my daughter and my two sons, who like rides, out. My daughter laughed because she can see over my shoulder now. She remembers when I used to have her on the back and she was tucked behind me. One of my sons does not like the bike, but I took him a couple of times anyway - so he will get used to it.
I plan to fix up mu van - I have new seats and carpet in the front and plan to have two more captains chairs and new carpet in the back. Then I just have to get all the windows fixed sometime and the van will be in better shape than when I bought it.
It is true that owning vehicles is time consuming, but nothing like riding the bus! I had to take two of my sons to their artistic events yesterday. It took three hours. The day before I tried to go to Cap College to see a show. It is on the North Shore and I do not usually travel there by bus. I left my home at 6:30pm and arrived at intermission at 9:15pm. This is ridiculous. I hope my van is fixed soon.
Well, I'm off to the Yale.
