But yes, I'm okay if by okay you mean I am not actually running around brandishing a knife promising to cut off That Arsehole's balls. I've cried for hours and my eyes are practically swollen shut. I'm so miserable I just want it to be next year so I can stop feeling so horrible.
The thing is, I knew he was a little touchy-feely. A lot of older men are, after all. They let their hands rest on your arm just a little too long, or find reasons to brush against you. It's all so slight, nothing you can complain about, but it's icky. And if you act like you're offended they pretend they don't know what's wrong. So I just kept hoping I was...was misinterpreting what he was doing.
But then at my last lesson he suggested we go get a beer afterwards. I said no, I didn't want a beer, I wanted to study, and then suddenly he was right next to me saying he could help me study, all in this horribly kind voice, and he had his hand under my sweater! So I screamed and yelled at him, and he got mad. He said really vile things about me, how I was not talented at all, I was a charity student, he had only taken me on because he was obliged to, and not because I was all the things he said when I first arrived.
My head hurts. I don't know what to believe right now. I am not talentless, no matter what he says. And maybe I am naive, but I did not...did not...oh I can't talk about this any more. My head hurts so.

If your head hurts, I do hope you can get some sleep. That sounds like the first thing you need. I'm very, very glad that you're safe and sane. That was positively despicable behavior on his part; if ever I met him you would have to hope that I wasn't running around with a knife as well. I swear that when we're together again no one will touch you without consent, because if you don't get to slaughter them personally, they'll have to answer to me. You are beautiful, but not in the way that anyone can just take and use like that, and you are extremely talented despite anything that bastard tells you. I can meet you at the airport at any time on the 1st, whether or not that means I miss class. You're always in my thoughts but tonight they will be moreso than ever.
And it's EJ now? You will always be Emily to me, but I like it.

I cannot wait to come back to Icaria.
Hmm. I think somewhere another angel just lost its wings. Ha. Well, it's true. I don't care how weird it is there, how sad or changed it is, it's where the people I love best in all the world are.
