Antigone foil
The foil of Antigone is clearly and obviously Antigone and her sister. Antigone is willing to stand up for her family and do what she thinks is right, even if it means breaking the law. Her sister represents someone who is not willing to do so because she is shy, timid, and in my opinion just a weak person overall. I do not think that what Antigone did is wrong in any way. I think it was wrong Craetes to out low the burial of his very own nephew. I understand that it can in a way be viewed that he turned against his homeland, but in reality he was being a good leader. He was fighting for what was rightfully his. Although he was fighting against his people, he was fighting for them. If his brother was willing to throw him out and completely take over Thebes, who knows what he could have been capable as leader. All in all I believe that Antigone held every right to bury her brother saving his soul from eternal misery. If she hadn’t she more than likely would have felt guilty that his sould would never feel rest.
