i'm pretty mad right now. the end of this day turned out to be pretty crappy.
see, i was having a good time at the casual family gathering prior to Amy's wedding tomorrow. it was good food and fun, lots of family and stuff. after dinner and dessert, Stanton's band, the Subliminal Criminals, played for a while.
they were still playing when i had to leave. since i'm staying at this hotel here, and so are Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Jim, i had to leave when they did. Ann's staying here too, except for tonight Amy wants her to stay up at the house, since she's helping out with the wedding. that was actually part of the upcoming disappointment, because if Ann was coming back, then i could've just stayed there.
me? i wanted to go back when we got back here. and so i came up here, changed my contacts for glasses, and ventured down to my own car and started to head back up...hoping to get in some quality hanging out time with Ann, Amy, Stant, and maybe Kate too...once everyone else finally left.
but i was thwarted. thwarted by my front passenger-side tire, which somehow has a puncture in it somewhere. yeah, it's flat. dunno how that happened, but it must have been on the drive up here. i inflated it with my compressor, and stopped, and sure enough heard the hissing sound that says there's a hole. i should be able to inflate it again tomorrow, and take it to the nearby Sears Auto Center, which is less than two miles from here. get all that taken care of before 3, giving me enough time to get back here and get ready for the wedding, which starts at 4.
but argh. i'm just so pissed off. i was really looking forward to hanging out with the rest of the "kids" tonight, without the distraction of zillions of other people around trying to get in their time too. we so very rarely get to see each other all at the same time. and Amy's moving to Utah shortly after this, so the chances are really running out.
side story: yeah, i call her Amy. my whole family does, even though her name is Amanda. that's just how we know her. to mom, dad, Ann, and I, she's Amy, that's what everybody called her when she was a kid. because of this, I actually grew up believing that Amy was a shortened name for Amanda (kinda like Jen for Jennifer), and not an actual name that goes on a birth certificate. i contintued to believe this until Junior High, when i finally met a "real" Amy.
stupid tire.
