the mack
christie and I watched the mack last night. good blaxsplotation movie. I've been let down by the genre a few times. Sweet Sweetbacks Badaaaas song and Shaft have good moments and great music but I never got into either that much. I've never seen Superfly or Dolemite but I think I may pretty soon.
Like a lot of movies from that era, there are several scenes that I think they could have thrown away but it was good. Most the actors were actual pimps including the main character. Richard Pryor was fun.
One of the things that kept Christie and I laughing was the fact that some of the best lines in this movie are sprinkled throughout several Too Short albums.
"see he wanted the honey...when all i want is the money"
also, there was an actor who I found soooo familiar that I finally figured out was on an episode of the Shield.
I know I have a lot of real updating (re: not crap movie reviews) to do. I'll get to it at some point.
