what a great weekend.
thursday
p-cow played the house of blues' parish room with the king che3tah. it was a lot of fun. i like playing the sunset strip but it is really the closest we ever get to "pay to play". We don't have to sell 100 tickets or anything but we do have to pay for parking and drinks which kind of sucks when you don't have that much money to spend in the first place. If there is one thing I can be cheap and penny pinching about, it is paying for parking. 10 bucks is a bargain on Sunset Strip and that is highway robbery
the thing is that while it can be a pain, some people ONLY go to the sunset strip for shows. believe it or not, some people still won't travel anywhere east of highland or vine. Some people hear about stabbings at Mr T's and Safari Sam's and won't ever go back. My parents used to be scared to death about me going to the hollywood paladium because of the riots that used to occur their back in the 1980s.
the other thing is that while we like playing weekend shows, a lot of people can not do weekend shows. When we play during the week, the crowd changes a bit here and there.
We were the second band. So we stood around holding our dicks for a bit after the last band and slowly it started to fill up with hippy andy and some old fringe kiss or killers, sarah getsetg0 and her friends, and the king che3tah crowd.
the room itself was decked out in persian rugs and looked to nice to even spit on the floor. even though the the room was small, i couldn't move around a lot because the speakers would feedback.
we put on a fun one and then the king che3tah blew me away. it has been entirely too long since i've seen them. they dedicated their set to mitch miller.
it was a fun night. i can not wait to do it again.
