Finished: Waiting (K+) - Draco/Hermione

Notes: For Heleen derryere. The style goes back to my Vanity days; I thought it was quite fitting. And, admittedly, this was fun. I urge everyone to proceed with caution - silliness abound and all that.

I am hooked to the story because of the summary too.

Hermione Granger decided she rather fancied Draco Malfoy. Preferably dead.

It is also my favourite line in there. Very well written. I especially loves the conversation between them, and that Luna bit at the beginning. Luna is probably my favourite character from the series, other than Hermione that is.

There is something that bugged though. It's the wand thing... I have read and re-read, but... I keep wondering, why did Draco not has his wand with him? Because there is this sentence earlier:

Not one to be alone on such grand adventures, he spotted her - Hermione Granger - making her rounds, immediately incapacitating her with a spell and dragging her along with him.

Which means, he cast the spell. Presumably with a wand. Or did he do wandless magic? or did the wand fall off somewhere in between that event and being trapped? But then there is this paragraph:

And it only reminded him how stupid he was for leaving his wand - well, it was somewhere. He wasn't always this forgetful, but he was too excited to start his day and his brief encounter with Granger made waiting all too unbearable.

Which implies that he never did bring the wand in the first place. So I got kind of confused. And I am really sorry for bothering you about this, not critising or anything but, it just really bugged me and I just have to ask about it.

Aw, thank you. I'm surprised people are still reading this.

But really, no worries. I love when people address the lack of continuity and, frankly, I can't quite remember. I read it again, and I think at the time of writing it, I thought I had inserted some section where he had dropped his wand. The idea of him doing wandless magic is a plausible idea, however. I know I wouldn't mind as it would fix my mistake without my having to edit it. :)

Thanks for pointing it out. We'll just pretend that the wandless magic is a given. So pathetic, I know. Haha.

Ah, lol. Don't worry too much about it. Seems like I am the only one who notices anyway. I am not even sure why I was focusing on the wand of all things.

I was going through dmhgficexchange master list for Celebrate the Season Exchange fics, read your fic A Splash into the Sea and I really like it so I thought I would check out the author's (you) page. And here I am.
