For the People
Arthur stood in the front rank. He hesitated then he moved forward. His sword was like a longer arm and his movement like he had never done anything different. He fought because he had to. He fought for the castle that was his home and the home of hundreds of people. There was no choice. There was only to win or to die.
Arthur's thoughts were with those people. He would defend Camelot for them. For their children and for the life they still wanted to lead. And he would die for them at any time.
He was still fighting as the battle was long over. Only when there was no doubt anymore that the danger was gone and nothing left to fight for Arthur allowed himself to stop and take a breath. He turned around with a heavy heart and without any strength left in his body.
What he saw made all his wounds disappear and all his exhaustion fly away as if it was nothing.
There were them. Man and woman. Mothers and father. Chidren and old people. And all the fear in her eyes was removed by hope in this moment. The children already began to laugh again. They laughed and ran through the shadows of the flames. They felt that everything was good again.
Arthur let his view flew over the people.
By then he knew that this worth a fight. And a hundred fights more.
