Sugary romantic stuff
Wednesday was sdavido's and my second anniversary. It doesn't seem like it's been two years already... and it really doesn't seem like we've been "together" for almost four. It still feels like we just found each other. This is probably a good thing. (Especially considering my previous record for a long-term relationship was a year.)
Since we don't usually get to spend much time together during the week, our idea of an Evening Out was pretty low-key... pizza, ice cream (with a detour to a neat knickknack shop), present exchange, and curling up on the couch to watch "Daria."
I'm rather pleased with what I found for him this year. There's a place that makes custom starscape posters. You tell them the date and place, and they'll make you a poster of what the sky looked like that night, with your choice of words underneath. So I ordered one of our wedding night. Really cool. Of course I'd forgotten that he'd seen the same catalog... turns out he was thinking of getting me one sometime! But I got to it first.
He gave me a couple books I'd been admiring but wasn't going to buy for myself, a pair of pretty blue heart earrings, and a... kind of tradition he's come up with. I'll let him decide if he wants to elaborate. :-)
Overall, a lovely night - but what makes it more special on reflection is that it was so unremarkable. We are both blessed in that we are grateful for each other every day, so a day to think about how much we love each other is, well, pretty much normal. (Hey, I warned you it was going to be sugary!)
And, thanks to the generous stranger who gave me permission to steal his icon... it was just too perfect.
