The name complains stay mainly in the brain. Or, you know, the LJ.

And now we come to the other part of the new names: the Elite Four and Subway Bosses.

Shauntal, Grimsley, Marshal, Alder

...I am absolutely in love with all of these. ♥ I think the gym leaders and player characters have dumb names because this is where all the good naming skills went. I would rather it be the other way around on principle, but dang I do not care these names are awesome. "Shauntal" is a cute little pun. "Grimsley" is just adorable ♥. "Marshal" is perfect; I'd been waiting for a play on "martial" for a fighting specialist since the Spanish games named Brawly "Marcial". (side note: the Spanish gym leader names are absolutely wonderful. Except for first gen which is just the English names.) And "Alder" is a plant name that also brings to mind fire words (like "ardent"), which fits with his hair. And it also sounds like "elder" because he is an old guy. :P The best part is that they all actually look like their names. In conclusion, these are the best names of the gen. :D :D

Don't have a problem with
Ingo and
Emmet either. Subtle and cute. Although I could be biased because I have an OC named Emmit. >_>

Also I know it is kind of dumb to bring this up now, but I hate not being able to name your rival(s). Hated it in gen 3, hate it now. Why are Brendan/May, Cheren and Bianca so much more special than Blue, Silver and Pearl? >:|

On another note, I know the dub's been out since forever, but I just found these clips of Grell's dub voice the other day. Swooooon. Love it, perfect, amazing, et cetera. Not too crazy about "Bassy" (né Sebby) but the rest is spot-on. Also love all the added Romeo and Juliet paraphrasing (at least, I don't think all that was in the original). I need to get my hands on these DVDs... in a couple of years once the price goes down. x_x
