Yes, that's right, MP finally has power in all units. It's a farkin' miracle. I was able to confirm it this morning before leaving for home. This morning was a busy morning because Paul and I also took advantange of having my station wagon in town (last time for a while) and picked up the washer and dryer we're buying from his lab mate. They're currently living in the garage until the basement is ready. Quite a bargain I'd say - gently used appliances for 50 bucks each. Here's the list for the first apartment revisited, because I like to torture you all:
- prime and paint wooden part of all window casings
- tape off and put down drop cloths in preparation for painting walls
- rent sprayer and paint walls
- install new bathroom lights
- apply new window frosting to bathroom window
- scrub all kitchen cabinets (inside and out) and put in new contact paper (This took about 4x longer than anticipated - the kitchen was FILTHY
- wash dining area trim
- scrub out fridge
- buy and install new stove
- scrub floors
- remove toilet and bathroom vanity in preparation for tile reglazing
- redo kitchen faucet installation
- finish scrubbing mini-blinds
- re-hang all mini-blinds once painting is done
- replace majority of electrical outlets and light swithches
- replace 2nd bedroom outlet box (it's loose, but believe it or not, this is an easy fix)
When I removed the bathroom vanity, it was such a piece of crap it fell apart. Figures. So I'll have to replace that now. Ah well, it will be better anyway.
I now have some pictures of the exterior
can be found hyar, for those interested. My drive home was uneventful and since Dad's birthday was yesterday, I cooked dinner for him and mom. Quite tasty if I say so myself. Using home grown green beans as a side and blueberries in the dessert. Gotta get that freezer emptied in time for Garden '09!
I'm now doing my best to stay up so that I can sleep in tomorrow and get on a smidge of a night schedule. Off to read some books now.
