Will this year be exciting??????
Ok, this is going to be interesting… I haven’t written on LJ for almost forever. Back a year ago I never thought I’d join the ranks of people who dropped off the face of LJ, and now here I am never writing. I guess when no one is on LJ to comment and talk too then there is very little motivation to put time into writing something long and time consuming.
Last year was not a very good year for me, I did next to nothing, and I was not very content with anything. I’m not really sure what this year will bring, but I’m hoping it brings a little more excitement. Interestingly enough, though, I’ve finally come to be much more accepting of the situation I find myself in. I guess God has plans for me that I may not understand, and even if this year brings nothing more than what last year brought, I’m just going to have to trust that God’s plans are higher than my plans.
Nonetheless, I have a feeling a lot of interesting things might be happening this year after all... First off, the most exciting thing happened when Summer had her baby on Feb 24th. Angelica Joy Christener is certainly not boring, to say the least. She’s the sweetest little baby girl, and I feel that with Her and Beepy around, Autumn and I are going to have a hard time being truly bored.
Also, Autumn and I are joining the Mena Chorus. It’s basically a bunch of people from Mena that get together and sing different songs for different places-nursing homes, clubs, etc-It’s just starting out, so we don’t know what it might turn into, but even if it doesn’t turn into anything big, it’s a fun way to spend our Monday evenings. (That’s when we get together to practice.).
But the most exciting part is still to come… Of course, this event is not at all set in stone, and if I can’t raise enough money, I won’t be doing it at all… So basically, I really want to do a two week summer school at “Foundations Bible College” in North Carolina. It starts near the end of June. I’ll have two weeks of extensive schooling, and then I’ll come home and I’ll have to complete a bunch of assignments by either Oct or Nov, I can’t remember when. The course equals an entire semester, and I’ll get 10 credit hours for it. It is basically music and bible that I’ll be learning. I don’t think there is a whole lot of the mundane courses that you normally have to take since the college is specifically a “music and bible college”. The only problem is… The course costs $2,000, and that’s just for tuition. Then there is the plane ticket and the dorm fee. Overall, if I’m lucky, the entire cost will be around $2,500. When I heard that, I was pretty certain that there was NO way I was going. Well, when I told Pop-o about it, he graciously said that if I could raise the rest, he would contribute $1,000 dollars. I was in shock, but it certainly raises my chances of being able to go. Anyway, I’m still really not sure how in the world I’m gonna raise enough money, (Anyone want to help? ;) but I’m just going to have to trust that God’ll provide if he wants me to go. I will admit, though, I’ll be very disappointed if I can’t.
So that’s my exciting future… if it happens… we’ll have to see….
