That's my Bruce Gordon tourer. I figured I'd install the seat cable (or have it installed, as the case may be), just in case I ride it around town. Pink sucks.
Eggbeaters are the only clipless I've ever ridden, and I've had them for... 6 years? Maybe 5. I had them on my old Puch fixed conversion, so I must have ridden them in the ice and snow at least once. I've never had any trouble clipping in that wasn't part of the learning curve (took me a day or so of just riding around in circles to get it down). I have fallen over in them, but I have in cages too, so I blame the user not the pedals.
My other pair are now on my Fuji (had to install for spin class), and those pedals and cleats are still going strong after all this time. What I like best about them is that I like to think they act as a psychological theft deterrent. I figure most people see them and don't know what the hell they are, and so are slightly less likely to take a bike with such weird looking pedals. However, I have ridden on them without being completely clipped in, so I'm sure if someone really wanted to they could pedal in regular shoes.
