2003 and 2004

Fairy got me thinking that I didn't do a year end review in any of my journals. I used to do this both at New Years and on my birthday.

Things of note in 2003:

-I re-started working 20 hours a week at church last January

-I held a Caldrithig Twelfth Night

-I ran an 8 week youth discussion series

-I discovered and fell in love with Pilates

-after Easter, I ran an 8 week introductory Christianity youth course

-I took middle Eastern dance classes for 12 weeks

-Tyr and I painted my kitchen and retiled the floor

-I went to SoulFest for 4 days with 14 teens and 6 other adults

-I co-autocratted Autocrat's Day Off (which was a misnomer)

-I re-started working 22.5 hours a week for the government in July

-I ran a 1 week Vacation Bible School

-I held a surprise baby shower for Athena

-I wrote a lot of poems.

-I had my first public performance as a bard. (I wrote a poem about Susanna and Cennedi, I emailed to her and she asked me to recite it at Coronation.)

-I started a monthly book club

-I joined a bi-weekly housegroup

-I held a toddler Halloween party

-I had a severe case of writing apathy in the fall, but I got to know a fellow writer and eventually got reinspired.

-I went to a scrapbooking workshop and fell in love with scrapbooking

-I co-autocratted a Caldrthig Christmas party

And of course, I did a lot of devotional reading and journaling. I lost a lot of weight, but I seem to have put it all back on.

And there were a ton of Grace's firsts: tooth, time eating, time sitting, time crawling, time walking, word, etc. But they are her accomplishments for the year, not mine. I just got to observe in awe.

2003's New Year's Resolution was "to be the best mom possible". I don't think I was a bad mom, but I wasn't the best I possibly could have been either.

2004's resolution is to write once a week (one evening 1-1.5 hours). I know what people are thinking - how will I get stuff accomplished if that is the only time I have. The sad truth is that if I write 1.5 hours a week, that will be 6 hours per month more than I wrote in some months of 2003. Besides, this is my minimum goal. If I get on a roll, I am allowed to write more. But, I want to discipline myself to write at least 1-1.5 hours a week.
