Character Information
Name: Kisara
Canon Origin/Series: Yu-Gi-Oh
School Year: 6th
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Out of school living location: Buftea, Romania
Blood status: Genuinely unknown

Personality: At first glance, Kisara is not very impressive. She is timid and unresisting, allowing anyone to do or say cruel things to her without ever trying to fight back or speak up for herself. At times, she also seems to be rather slow, her speech simple and hesitant, and her expressions are usually limited to ‘blankly starting’. However, it’s important to keep in mind that in her canon, one’s truest nature is reflected by the form of their soul. Kisara’s soul is a white dragon, and has immense power- and as one could guess, her true nature is quite different than how she initially appears. She can speak eloquently and behave in an almost regal manner when the situation calls for it, and when she’s acting as such she doesn’t show even a hint of nervousness.

The most defining characteristic of Kisara is her strong will. In the anime it is more overt, as she eventually outright declares to Seto that she will fight and protect him until her death. In the manga, it is still there, but subtler. When confronted with certain death, she does not cower or try to run. Instead, she behaves with dignity, bowing her head and facing the threat without fear. When given an opportunity to flee and save herself, she chooses to stay and help the man who saved her life, though it means her death. She is also exceptionally pure- her ‘soul’ is depicted as being an almost holy creature of light, on par with a god. In addition, she has the capacity for great devotion- even after death, and after his reincarnation thousands of years later, she continues to fight and protect Seto as his most powerful ally.

Canon Background: Kisara’s background is mostly a mystery. What we know for certain is her village was attacked by thieves and rogues, and she herself was kidnapped by them due to her unusual hair and eye color. She was rescued by a young boy about her age, who gave her his horse and helped her run away. By coincidence, she wound up in his village, which was then pillaged by the rogues out of revenge. She was knocked unconscious, thereby unleashing her ‘Ka’, the White Dragon and decimating every evil-doer there.

She spent several years wandering the desert, only entering villages to get water. Whenever she tried, she’d be attacked due to her blue eyes and white hair. But one time she tried, something different happened. The Pharaoh’s priests were coming through, and happened to see a group of villagers stoning her. One of the priests, Seto, ordered them to stop and brought her to the palace to recover. He knew she possessed a powerful Ka, and hoped to use her for his own purposes. But he changed his mind soon enough when she was forced to fight other criminals to protect herself... but didn’t summon her Ka. Not wanting her to die, he stepped in to save her, and she wound up fainting. Thanks to that, the White Dragon was unleashed and destroyed all of the criminals she was fighting.

Seto realized she was the girl he had rescued all those years ago, and started falling in love with her. Kisara spent a while unconscious, but when she woke up she had a premonition that the world was going to end and Seto needed her help. Owing her life to him, she ran off to find him. Along the way, she wound up running into Seto Kaiba (Priest Seto’s future reincarnation who was accidentally trapped in the past). She told him of the danger that was to come, and left… but not before saying she believed they would meet again. Finally, she found Priest Seto again and told him she would protect him. They were then attacked by his psycho dad, and Kisara heroically sacrificed herself to save Seto’s life. He was then thrown into despair and was mind controlled by his father, but her spirit saved him and gave him her power. The White Dragon became his monster to command for the rest of his life- and thousands of years later, his reincarnation would use the Blue Eyes White Dragon cards (still containing her soul) as his most precious allies.

Background (AU!Canon; HP): CrimsonKisara's origins are as much a mystery to her as they are to everyone else. She was found in a Romanian dragon reservation as a very young child, unconscious and without any memories or identification on her. The only reason anyone even knew where she was was because when she fell unconscious, a great light appeared and signaled her location to the workers in the area. It was generally agreed that it was a sign of her possessing magical blood, so she was eventually taken in by one of the people who found her. The man was married, but didn't have any children and both he and his wife desperately wanted one.

But Kisara never quite fit in with their family. Her appearance was drastically different than either of her 'parents', with her white hair, pale skin, and bright blue eyes. She was also very physically frail, and prone to bouts of unconsciousness, and whenever she did she would end up setting off large, powerful bursts of magic and cause trouble for everyone. Eventually, the two of them had a child of their own, and though Kisara was never really treated badly by them, she did end up getting pushed to the side and ignored in favor of the new addition to the family. She never tried to change this, even as the years passed she felt herself being less and less a part of the family. She believed anything she tried would be futile.

When she was eleven, she received an invitation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She didn't really fit in much better there, either. Her magic was incredibly weak when she was conscious, despite her best efforts to improve, and she was picked on a lot for it. Her quiet acceptance of this treatment didn't help. The thought of telling her parents or the teachers about how she was being treated never occurred to her. The only classes she did well at were ones not related to spell casting, such as Herbology and Potions, but she was able to compensate somewhat for her abysmal practical skills by doing well on tests and written homework, so she managed to avoid failing anything (just barely in some cases). By her sixth year, she had given up on trying to socialize, and avoided people whenever possible, instead doing her best to focus on improving her magic abilities.Clover

How would your character fit in to each House?
Gryffindor: Though she doesn’t look it at first glance, Kisara has exceptional bravery and inner strength. She also has something of a hero streak, making great efforts in canon to help save the world and protect those close to her.

Hufflepuff: She’s very loyal and usually gentle, but she’s selective about who she pledges herself to and too much of a loner to be at ease as a team player. Also, she‘s works hard, but is really more of the type to do exactly what it takes to get adequately by (no matter how tough it may be) but no extra.

Ravenclaw: She is fairly intelligent, though it's more like intuition than braininess, and she doesn’t take any pains to show it off unless the situation requires it. She also isn't that concerned with learning any more than she needs to.

Slytherin: She can think on her feet when she has to, but she’s not manipulative, particularly ambitious, or a strategist in any way.

Sample Journal Entry:

Excuse me, but... did someone lose their journal? I found this one lying on the floor... but there's nothing written in it, and no name, so... I don't know who to return it to.

I know... the owner probably won't be able to see this, but... if anyone knows someone who's lost one, please let me know.

The school day had ended, and Kisara had gone outside to work on her homework. Specifically, the extra practical sessions that her Charms professor had 'strongly recommended'. Her practice area of choice was the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest- far from being afraid of it, it was one of her favorite places to spend time at. It was almost always deserted, and when it wasn't, the students there left her alone for fear that she would tell on them to the teachers. She wouldn't, of course, and the thought wouldn't have even crossed her mind if they hadn't mentioned it, but it seemed wiser not to actually tell them that.

Today she was to practice the Aguamenti spell. In class, she had only managed to flick a few drops by the end of it, while almost everyone else had gotten at least one good spurt. Any frustration she felt about her failures had long since dulled into a quiet but stubborn desire to just get better.

She stopped and thought for a moment about the problems she had when she was a child. It had seemed like she caused trouble almost every day with her fainting spells and the magic she unleashed when they occurred. But now that she was older and her health had improved, it seemed that she had traded away that powerful magic in exchange. Sometimes she wondered if those stories about her magic hadn’t just been exaggerated- after all, she had never seen one for herself.

Kisara closed her eyes and shook her head, strands of white falling carelessly in her face. Thinking about that wasn’t going to help her now. She just raised her wand, performed the movement she had been taught, and cast, “Aguamenti.”

Nothing. But that was alright. There was plenty of time before dark for her to keep trying.
