I've gotten really bad about typing in this thing, havent I?

I still visit every day, and read, but I havent posted anything meaningful in a long time. I think part of that is I live a very boring life. So without further ado, here's my boredom for you to pretend to read!

Work is still going alright. Plugging away at my job experience in preperation for getting my professional designation. Next fall will likely be the time for me to write my ethics exam and submit the scads of paperwork necessary. Thank god I'm not an engineer. Having seen what they have to go through to get accreditation with APEGM, my own measly 2 years of work experience is trivial.

Jona and I are still together, and still utterly smitten. The long distance part is still tough, and some days are tougher than others, but we're coping pretty admirably. He's managed to get me hooked on World of Warcraft, and part of our 'together' times are admittedly done romping through Azeroth killing things.

The family that slays together... you get the idea.

Have a few 'real life' games I'm in, a Rolemaster game that runs every Wednesday night, and a DnD campaign I host (But dont DM) that technically happens every second saturday but realistically is more every 3rd to 4th saturday.

I still fiddle occasionally with cross stitch, leatherwork and beads, and recently picked up a sketchbook to find out once and for all how much of my inability to draw is lack of talent, and how much is lack of practice. For that matter I still fiddle. Once in a while. Looking at the list of hobbies I've tried, I'd have to say that while I dont do any of them particularly well, I seem to have a lot of them. Would that make my hobby 'being a dilettante'? Should pick up writing again and add that to the list.

Sister celebrated her birthday yesterday, and I admit to feeding her addiction by getting her yet another musical on DVD. Wonder how Josh, mom and dad are appreciating her singing along to Cat Ballou at the top of her lungs.

The joys of not living at home anymore.

Still loving my apartment, and my view. Going to miss the 1030pm friday motorcycle crew, but they're going to have to put them to bed soon. Although if they dont, it should get alot more interesting to watch the 30 or so speed bikes with no mufflers tearing down Bishop Grandin. Baroness Von Muttonbundle is fat and happy, loving the new furniture, and upset in general when her pillow gets up to go to work in the mornings.

Started taking a serious look at retirement plans, and set up to start putting some money away each month in an RRSP. Since I emptied mine out to go back to school, I let it slide a little too long before stepping up to get back on top of this. Not going to be able to retire early without winning the lottery, but I will damnit be able to retire comfortably.

Turning 30 next month as well. For a change? I find myself looking forward to it. Been a few years since birthdays felt special to me, but this one I'm anticipating. The party isnt going to be anything special, just finding a big table at the Tavern United on Pembina, and any and all who want to come down for a pint and some greasy food is more than welcome to.

Still reading alot, but I'm drifting backwards in time while I do it. Lots of Asimov, Heinlein, AE Van Vogt, Poul Anderson etc. Older sci fi. Finding alot of sources for references in current works I've read, and seeing the seeds of ideas before they'd been analyzed and categorized to death, very fun.

Well, the break is over (and then some). Time to get back to the daily grind.
