Dog Alert
To anybody in St. Vital, watch out for a pair of Shepherd crosses that are running loose in the neighbourhood. Both have collars and tags, DONT try looking at them!
Waiting for the bus this morning, a pair of dogs wandered down Dakota and to the bus stop at Bishop Grandin and Dakota. They were muddy, but had collars and tags. One came in very close, and I reached to get a look at the tags and see if there was a phone number I could call so their owners could come get them.
He tried to take my hand off. Both of them started growling and lunging, and I backpedalled pretty damned fast. Two guys bailed out of their car on Dakota to come to my rescue, and the dogs stopped the threat attacks as soon as they were outnumbered. Circled the dogs, got on the bus, they got back in their car. Called 911 to report the mutts, as there's 2 schools, one for little kids a block north.
Thank you so much to the two strangers who helped me, I was a bit too shaken at the time to say thank you properly.
Nothing like a shot of adrenaline at 7am.
On the other end of it, today can only go up from here.
