*Public Service Announcement* Never get tires from Sears Auto Service- tell your friends.

*Disclaimer, I'm really pissed off about this, so it might not make perfect sense. There is a moral and all, so please bear with my craziness. Thank you*

Ok, so almost a year ago I took my car in to get new tires at Sears. They fucked my car, and that's being nice. Brad took my car into work while I was out of town last week for an oil change and to balance and align my tires, since the steering column shook really badly. When he took my tires off, he found that when my new tires were put on, they were never balanced! The amount of shit that was caked on around the tire weights could not have formed there in less than a year, and let's not forget that the weights that he took off were discontinued over 2 years ago. Fuckers not doing their jobs. When we went in to Sears to try and get two new tires (since I got full coverage on them) they wouldn't do a damn thing. All the service manager would do is sit there and talk to Brad like he was a moron, and not even acknowledge my presence (for those who might not know, he's been a mechanic for 10 years). That pissed me off. He offered to do some kind of bullshit that wasn't even necessary. I told Brad that they are not touching my car EVER again. Finally, we got the General Manager out there, and he still treated us like morons. He would not give us the refund we were asking for on one of my tires, even though you could SEE the steele belting shining right through the rubber of the tire "Because that's an alignment issue, and that's not covered in the warranty." I told him that I asked for an alignment when I got the tires, and I confirmed it with the clerk that rang me up. I didn't have the paper work, so I was lied to. After much frustration, and me almost kicking some major ass, he reluctantly agreed to replace the tire, and warranty cost on the SECOND tire that was damaged due to improper installation (even though he claims that the damage was caused by a mechanical issue). We disagreed on that point. He wanted to pro-rate the price of the tire, and put that cost towards a new tire that was going to be installed by them. No. We are getting a tire elsewhere, and you are going to refund the FULL cost of the tire plus the cost of the warranty. Finally an agreement.

Oh, and get this, the whole time, Brad is talking to the Technicians that were there, and the tecs even told him that both the service manager and the general manager were both morons. I wish that one of them had been able to speak up about the way we were being treated. We might have actually gotten what we wanted, and not have to do the next step, which is....

Needless to say, corporate and the HR department of Sears will be getting a complaint. A nice long one. This is the abridged version.

If you need tires, please take the time and a little more gas, and go down to see Brad at the NTB by Potomac Mills. They know their shit there.
