glad i found ya on live journal! as promised, here is the pattern for the knithulu.

for the tentacles, i modified the pattern and did a twisted loop stitch. basically, you pull the stitch as if to knit, but don't slide it off the needle. then pick up the new stitch with your fingers and pull it out to twice the length you want the twist to be. twist it around your finger till it starts to curl up on itself, and keeping the middle of this long twist secure, let the rest of the stitch curl around itself. then put the loop around your finger on the working needle and ktog to close the tenticle. :)
