I think walking or using a bike is admirable and I wish I had a bike so I could ride to places more. I also enjoy walking to certain places. However, I get tired of hearing these bike rants about cars or pedestrian complaints.
Yes, I realize I'm in a car and not on foot and it's much safer for me. Do you realize that? When it's too hard for you talk walk 10 extra feet to get to that crosswalk and instead just walk wherever you feel like it, don't you feel like you're taking your life in your hands? Or those people who weave through cars while the light is about to turn green - is that really a good idea?
I also frequently see bikes not following the rules of the road. Yes, surprise surprise, bikes are supposed to ride with traffic and obey road signs. That means that you also have to stop! I always watch cyclists because the vast majority of them that I've seen just cruise through stop signs, ride against traffic or don't signal what they're doing. Heaven forbid I hit one who decides to ride in front of me. Thankfully, I haven't yet but I'm sometimes sure that's because I'm so paranoid. Grrr~
