Sometimes I wish I liked crowds. I don't. Yesterday we stayed all of 30 minutes actually at the Sakura Masuki. The lines were insanely long and I was getting jostled from all sides. The only thing I wanted was either food or a cat-ear beanie and I wasn't about to stand in line for 20+ minutes for food and most of the beanies were sold out. Blehh. I mean, it was nearly insane how many people were there. Pretty much each booth had about 3 or 4 lines, each approximately 30+ people long. I think it would've been better if they had held it on the mall instead of squishing everyone on the small DC streets. :\
We ended up going over to the National Museum of Natural History and had a great time. Cassie's a little science lover so she really had fun. I think her favorite was the butterfly exhibit followed by the ocean exhibits. She also seemed to like the other ones but the butterfly one was awesome. We paid for the tickets to walk through the live butterfly area. I forgot that she had gone there last year for a trip but she seemed to enjoy it just as much as I imagine she did the first time.
While it wasn't everything I had hoped for, I think we all had a great day. Jesse, Cassie and I came home exhausted and I lent Jesse my DS (he left his at home) while I watched a few episodes of House and Family Guy on Hulu before we crashed for the night. Guess I'm going to get Pokemon Platinum in a few weeks... hopefully by that time I'll have played The World Ends With You out.
After Jesse left today I was so tired I fell back asleep. I woke up and took Cassie to the large playground/park along with Pids. Pids and I sat and people watched while the munchkin ran around. It amuses me greatly that a dog that weighs less than 10 pounds can scare *anyone*, much less a grown woman. Srsly, lady... srsly. She just walked by and the woman damn near jumped out of her skin.
All in all - a good weekend and I'm sad to have to go back to work tomorrow. Blehhh!
